We're Ready!

Dekalogo is all ready for viewing. In fact, summer class teachers have already been bringing their students over to see it.

They found dozens of Everyday Filipino Heroes there, too.

And today, we finished setting up the Outdoor Art Banners.

It's our biggest show of the year. Two - no, make that three shows in one, actually.

So, we're ready for you. See you all this Saturday 4pm at the Vargas Museum for the official opening!

Cathy Lasam's "Idea Fija"

“Idea Fija,” an exhibit of recent works by artist Cathy Lasam is featured currently at 1/of Gallery at Serendra in Bonifacio Global City. On view are polyptychs that consist of an oil on canvas piece or a series of these, accompanied by a mounted paper sculpture of an element in any of the paintings. The collection was spurred by Lasam’s aspirations and their fulfillment, a process where the painted renditions stand for her “ideas and visions” and their realization takes form in the three –dimemsional. Her intent is to “visually reinforce the relationship of abstract thought and concrete reality: the transition from the artist’s passionate drive, to conceptualization, and finally into a real, and palpable art object.”

Cathy Lasam graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from U.P. in 2003. Since then she has exhibited her works extensively both locally and abroad. A member of Philippine Art Educators Association (PAEA), Cathy Lasam has been an art educator since 2005.

“Idea Fija” opens on April 13, 2010 and shall run until April 30, 2010. Call 901-3152 or email 1ofgallery.serendra@gmail.com for details.
