What's Coming Up

Sorry we haven't been able to update you folks... We'll really try and get this blog up and running again.

So to restart, here's a rundown of what to expect in the coming weeks.

1. TEDxDiliman 2012: The Future. September 15, 2012 from 1-7pm at Malcolm Theater in UP Diliman.

This year (our second hosting this gathering for ideas worth spreading), our speakers will share visions and hopes and dreams of the future... of law, peace, visual storytelling, sports, cities, filmmaking, comics, the past, and more...

2. Reflection 1081: Remembering Martial Law 40 Years After. September 21, 2012 at 4pm at CANVAS Gallery and Garden.

We have an ongoing retrospective at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (see details below), featuring  protest artworks from 1972 to 1986. This satellite show will feature new works by selected younger artists (who did not necessarily live through the dark days of Martial Law), reflecting on the lessons and legacies of that period.

3. Blue Stars. The Launch and Art Exhibition for our next children's book. Written by Frankie Torres. Artworks by Liv Vinluan. October 17, 2012 at 6pm at The Podium in Ortigas Center.

As-yet untitled (one half of a diptych)

Here's an excerpt:  Nadia spent the long night huddled in the dark, with her family, listening to the roaring of the bombs and the crackling of the fire as it burnt through the village. She did not sleep.

And there's more... but we'll leave those for our next posts.
