CANVAS is looking for multimedia interns (either as individuals or as teams) who can work on our digital media projects and contribute their talents and energies to the pursuit of our mission. The internships are designed for college students or recent college graduates who are interested in gaining valuable experience in a creative-and-cool-and-laid-back-but-obsessively-results-oriented nonprofit organization.
The interns would be expected to commit to work at least 15 hours per week for a minimum of three continuous months from April through September 2012. Selected interns will be provided with a modest stipend, and the internships may evolve into full-time salaried positions.
Projects include:
--Assisting in the creation of iPad/Kindle/Facebook apps/e-books/animation/other multimedia products based on CANVAS’ children’s stories;
--Conducting, recording and editing interviews for Mga Kuwento Natin, CANVAS’ new contemporary oral history project;
--Editing and producing web and podcast content for the CANVAS and/or Looking for Juan websites;
--Assistance with the organization of TEDxDiliman 2012: The Future;
--Researching stories and performing administrative tasks.
If interested, please email your cover letter and CV to info@canvas.ph. Please indicate if applying as a team.
The ideal candidates would have some or all of the following attributes: experience with Web, iPad or multimedia production; a demonstrated record of creative accomplishment and a passion for Philippine art and culture; excellence in writing and editing; creativity and ability to be flexible; and the ability to work quickly, accurately, under deadline and with minimal supervision.
